Hurley Primary School is situated in the small village of Hurley. With substantial grounds and beautiful views of the surrounding area, Hurley Primary is an attractive and stimulating learning environment. At Hurley Primary we are very positive and have a friendly ethos where we believe every child is special.
Ofsted have judged Hurley as a good school with outstanding features (May 2014).
We have superb adult to pupil ratios and excellent teachers who make learning exciting, enjoyable and worthwhile. Our motto is "Enjoy and Achieve" and we are very proud of our exciting, modern curriculum, which according to Ofsted (May 2014, ‘gives pupils an abundance of exciting experiences that captures their imagination, motivates them to work hard and ensures that they learn to behave in a sensible and mature manner.’
We expect high standards from everyone and as a result of this, behaviour of the children at Hurley Primary School was graded as Outstanding in our latest Ofsted inspection (May 2014). We offer a wide variety of after school clubs and our PTA organise regular events for children and the community. We also have an excellent, independent on-site nursery and offer before and after school care.
There has been a school on this site for over 100 years. Initially, this was the Old School House which later became the Head Master's House and a new building was built in 1889. This old school building was demolished and now forms the site of one of the playgrounds and a carpark. The present building, built in the 1960s, has been extended over the years to its current size.
